Beadboard Kitchen Cabinets

Let's talk about the beadboard kitchen cabinets. If you talk about the material of kitchen cabinets you will be amazed to find that a plethora of materials is used for building these cabinets. Today’s trend in building cabinets is the use of combination of two or more materials.

Beadboard Kitchen Cabinets

Splashing through the pages of magazines you will find kitchens decorated with red colored cherry kitchen cabinets, pine kitchen cabinets and others.

Among the types of cabinets being sold like hot cakes one is beadboard kitchen cabinets. Some of you must be wondering as to “what is beadboard”.

Beadboard as many accept is the staple of kitchen decoration since many years. If you want to give your kitchen cabinets a rustic look that will blend well with your kitchen décor then it is this beadboard finish that you are looking for.

The typical vertical lines not only provide depth and detail to the surface but also break up the horizontal effect. It has the same impact when used for interior designing, on kitchen cabinets and ceilings or under a chair as wainscot.

Have you seen series of unique channels added to the panels of your cabinets? That is beadboard. Want to give a conventional look to your cabinets? Then use beadboard on doors and end panels of cabinets.

As the furrows in the beadboard run vertically it produces a banded effect. Do you have an inclination towards horizontal stripes? Then turn the beadboard and put it along a horizontal axis and here is what you desired to have.

The paneling style using beadboard has now gained a lot of popularity. What has been the key of attraction since ages is its unique appearance that is its striped look. If you decide to go for paint options then you can select bead board cabinets that have been primed white.

You choose to stain your cabinets? Then pick unfinished wood grain beadboard kitchen cabinets. These are simple ways if you want to of renewing the look of the cabinets. And believe me unlike the wood kitchen cabinets these are quite within our budgetary limits. Though many can afford solid wood kitchen cabinets but their occurrence is rare.

Installing the beadboard does not require any professional. It is an easy task. You only need to be patient and give enough time till you get the desired look.

The things that you need for this are beadboard, measuring tape, sand paper, pencil and screwdriver. Not to forget the most important thing that is the adhesive glue. You need to remove the paint or varnish. So next step on the list is-sand the whole face which you have decided to give a wainscoting beadboard look.

Now measure the part that you are going to fix with the beadboard using a measuring tape. Be very careful while measuring because if the pieces are cut wrong everything will go hay-ware.

According to the measurements make points with a pencil on the beadboard by laying it straight on an even surface. Using a ruler draw straight lines along the points and cut accordingly with a table saw.

Apply adhesive on the cut pieces and start pasting from the lower end of your cabinet moving upwards. Now you have your beadboard kitchen cabinets ready. Beadboard finish goes best with country and rustic looking kitchens.
